The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment selects 42 Climate Projects 2014 The Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, Isabel García Tejerina, today chaired the presentation of the 42 Climate Projects selected by the Governing Council of the Carbon Fund in the 2014 call. These projects will allow the reduction of almost one million tonnes of CO2 in Spain in the so-called “diffuse” sectors (transport, residential, commercial, institutional, waste, industry, agriculture and fluorinated products).
Through the Carbon Fund, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment acquires verified emission reductions from the Climate Projects developed in Spain, through the purchase of these reductions by the Spanish Office for Climate Change, under the Ministry, while generating sustainable economic activity and promoting employment in our country.
These 42 projects involve 65 new actions in diffuse sectors with a presence in all autonomous communities. The proposals Selected They have a broad and balanced regional and sectoral distribution and cover all the diffuse sectors, distributed as follows: Fifteen projects in the sector residential, commercial and institutional; seven in the agricultural sector, six in the waste sector, five in the transport sector, three in the industrial sector and one in the fluorinated gases sector.
