The Biodiversity Foundation, with the support of Fundación Entorno-BCSD Spain, has just launched a new tool based on a system of indicators to allow non-profit organizations to quantify the effectiveness – environmental, social and economic – of their projects.
After a previous pilot project carried out with almost thirty NGOs, the result of this work is a web tool of practical use for non-profit organizations that will help them to quantify the real value of their projects, a very important aspect taking into account the growing social demand to know where they are directed and how the economic resources allocated to NGOs and their projects are managed. and the need to focus on accountability and clear results-orientation.
Before designing this tool, the Biodiversity Foundation carried out a pilot project with a sample of almost thirty non-profit entities, to which it gave several face-to-face training workshops, in addition to providing them with tutorial assistance throughout the process of compiling reference indicators. For all this, it has had the technical support of Fundación Entorno-BCSD Spain.
The result of this work has been reflected in a website where a practical guide for non-profit organizations is available, as well as a battery of indicators, protocols that help to understand them, recommendations on how to better communicate these results, and real examples of the organizations that have participated in the pilot project.
