We want you to participate with us in the activities we have prepared.

At the Biodiversity Foundation we have put all our energy, work and enthusiasm to contribute the best of ourselves to this historic summit, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 25), which will be held from 2 to 13 December at IFEMA/Feria de Madrid. The Foundation’s commitment to act against climate change and seek solutions, adapt to its consequences, goes back a long way, and what better time to share and promote the initiatives we are developing with you at a key moment for the future of our planet.

Throughout the Summit we want to shine a beacon on solutions against climate change and for marine conservation, you will find it behind the Agora of the Green Zone (Pavilion 1 of IFEMA).

Here is the agenda of activities we have prepared:

Blue Zone #COP25, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The objective of this session is to raise awareness of the role played by MPAs (Marine Protected Areas) in the face of climate change.

Networking of MPAs is key to maintaining resilience to climate change. MPAs protect coastal habitats such as coral reefs, mangroves and wetlands, reducing the vulnerability of these ecosystems to climate change. In addition, they favor carbon sequestration, thus immobilizing greenhouse gases.

This meeting will analyse the need to incorporate the gender perspective in the various actions, initiatives and plans that are designed and carried out in the face of climate change. After an introductory round table, participants and attendees will contribute their considerations, knowledge and experiences on the topic which, in addition to being presented at the end of the session, will be compiled in a final document of conclusions.
