Antonio Serrano attends the meeting of the Organizing Committee of the III World Congress of Biosphere Reserves

The Secretary General for Territory and Biodiversity of the Ministry of the Environment and President of the Spanish Committee for the MaB Programme, Antonio Serrano, has attended the meeting of the Organising Committee of the III World Congress of Biosphere Reserves, which will be held in Madrid next February.

The World Congress of Biosphere Reserves will be attended by around a thousand people representing governments, reserves, United Nations agencies, non-governmental organizations and entities and institutions from the five continents.

In parallel to the celebration of the congress, which will be entitled “Futures for the Biosphere, UNESCO Biosphere Reserves for Sustainable Development”, the twentieth session of the International Coordinating Council of the MaB Programme will be held in Madrid on the same dates. The Madrid congress will provide an opportunity to assess the impact of the Seville Strategy and the Statutory Framework of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves.
