The Secretary General for Territory and Biodiversity and President of the Board of Trustees of the Biodiversity Foundation, Antonio Serrano, inaugurated this morning the eighth edition of the Master’s Degree in Environmental Management and Administration of the Biodiversity Foundation. Antonio Serrano was accompanied by the Vice-Rector for European Space and Teaching Planning of the National University of Distance Education, Encarnación Sarriá, and by the Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies of the Menéndez Pelayo International University, María de los Ángeles Monge. In addition, during this opening ceremony of the 2007/2008 academic year, Antonio Serrano has delivered the accrediting diplomas to the students who took the VII edition of the Master’s Degree.

The eighth edition of the Master’s Degree in Environmental Management and Administration of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of the Environment will take place during the academic year 2007/2008. This will be the first edition of the Master’s Degree taught as a degree of the National University of Distance Education, UNED, in collaboration with the Menéndez Pelayo International University, UIMP. This is possible thanks to the agreement signed by the Biodiversity Foundation and the aforementioned universities, which gives the Master’s degree a public character and allows it to have the academic endorsement of these two prestigious universities.

Since its first edition, held in the 1999/2000 academic year, the Master’s Degree in Environmental Management and Administration of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of the Environment has been one of the leading postgraduate degrees in environmental matters in Spain. Throughout its seven editions, it has provided solid theoretical and practical training to students who are currently developing their professional activity as environmental managers, both in the Public Administration and in the private sector.
