Three schools in Ibiza, Barcelona and Madrid have won the “Bosch Project” competition, organised by the National Association of Forestry Companies (ASEMFO) and the Ministry of the Environment, to raise awareness among children between the ages of 10 and 12 (6th year of Primary Education and 1st year of Secondary) about the problem of climate change and the importance of forests as carbon sinks.
The Bosch Project, whose delivery deadline ended on October 30, has had the participation of more than 5,000 schools throughout Spain, with a total of 160,000 beneficiaries. The jury, made up of representatives of the Environment and ASEMFO, has valued and rewarded the best actions carried out by schools or the projects they have developed or will develop to alleviate the effect of climate change.
The awards ceremony took place today at a ceremony held at the Ministry of the Environment, which was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Secretary General for the Prevention of Pollution and Climate Change, María José Gómez García-Ochoa, the president of the National Association of Forestry Companies (ASEMFO), and the directors and students of the three winning schools.
