In the last breeding season 2016, the program established 23 breeding pairs based on the recommendations established by the different administrations involved in the conservation of this species. As in previous years, most of the specimens born in 2017 will be prepared for release into the wild and the rest will become part of the breeding stock of the breeding program with the aim of maintaining adequate genetic diversity and an adequate demographic balance.
