The Director General of Environmental Quality and Assessment and the Natural Environment, Guillermina Yanguas, today held a meeting with the Director General of the Environment of the European Commission, Karl Falkemberg, within the framework of the preparatory sessions for the United Nations Summit for Sustainable Development (“Rio+20”), which is being held from 20 to 22 June in the Brazilian city.

In these sessions, the Spanish delegation met today with representatives of different social and trade union organisations, who conveyed their concerns about the development of these negotiations prior to the summit.
