The city of Foz do Iguaçu, in Brazil, hosts from today until November 20 the seventh edition of the Ibero-American Environment Meeting (EIMA 7). Representatives of governments, companies, educational institutions and non-governmental organizations from Spain and Latin America will discuss issues related to global change, the focus of this seventh edition.
Since 1996, the year of its first celebration within the framework of the third National Congress on the Environment, this Forum has sought to transfer CONAMA’s work philosophy to the Ibero-American sphere. Since then, it has alternated the editions held in Latin America with those organized within CONAMA itself, and has been consolidating itself as a reference event between professionals on both sides of the Atlantic.
During this seventh meeting, in which the Biodiversity Foundation collaborates with the CONAMA Foundation, a proposal document will be prepared that will compile the highlights of three days of debates between specialists, entrepreneurs and managers. It is about providing an innovative perspective and sharing knowledge that contributes to a consistent and realistic reflection on global change.
The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, will participate on the 20th in a round table discussion on international development cooperation, together with representatives of the Secretary of State for International Cooperation; the World Fair Trade Organization; of COPADE, Trade for Development, and with experts and members of the Administrations of the host country, Brazil.
