The Seville headquarters of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment has held a conference on the potential of the green economy with the presentation of three innovative and successful initiatives to promote its adaptation and extension to the Spanish context.
The ideas that have been presented, La Ruche qui dit Oui!, Terre de Liens and L’estoc, stand out for their potential for scalability and have an impact on recycling and agricultural activity. The three have been selected, out of a total of 20 innovative solutions, by a jury of experts in the field of the green economy.
The company La Ruche qui dit Oui! encourages direct exchange between local organic farmers and consumer communities. This relationship is materialized through a web platform and regular meetings to create a market. This creates small communities of consumers, called “beehives”, each with a manager whose work is remunerated with a percentage of purchases. To date, more than 400 “beehives” have been created in France and Belgium with more than 75,000 customers and a turnover of more than 9 million euros.
For its part, Terre de Liens seeks to facilitate access to land for new farmers through lease relationships of farms acquired by the organization. The aim is to protect land from speculation to dedicate it to organic farming and the sustainable economy.
The third initiative presented was L’estoc, a company dedicated to recycling disused materials for their reconversion into designer furniture, employing people with intellectual disabilities in the process.
The event, which has already taken place previously at Caixa Forum in Madrid, thus tries to offer answers to unemployment through innovative and sustainable ideas that can be replicated or inspire new business ideas in our country.
