Beachfront hospitality establishments that want to participate in the IV edition of the Responsible Beach Bar Awards have until next Monday, June 22 to send their candidacy.
 
The different editions of the “Responsible Beach Bar Awards”, promoted by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, have already had the participation of 175 beach bars that have developed nearly 300 initiatives to protect coastal areas.
 
The IV edition of these awards aims to encourage new beachfront hospitality establishments to commit to the environment and the sustainable development of their activity. Five of them, those who propose the best initiatives, will receive a prize of 1,500 euros. In addition, the public will choose another winner among the 10 finalists through social networks.
 
These awards were held for the first time in 2012 with the participation of 34 beach bars, a year later there were already 65 participants and last year up to 76 establishments opted for these awards. The figures have been growing, which has also led to an increase in environmental and social commitment to the protection of the Spanish coast.
