The MAPAMA (Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment), through the Biodiversity Foundation, has opened the deadline for submitting projects to the call for grants for the implementation of collective actions and measures aimed at protecting and developing aquatic fauna and flora.
The MAPAMA (Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment), through the Biodiversity Foundation, has opened the deadline for submitting projects to the call for grants for the implementation of collective actions and measures aimed at protecting and developing aquatic fauna and flora.
The objective of the call, co-financed by the European Fisheries Fund 2007-2013 through the Operational Program for the Spanish Fisheries Sector, is to support the development of projects that contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Common Fisheries Policy, promoting the fishing sector to be economically strong while guaranteeing the conservation and sustainable exploitation of aquatic resources.
This call for grants has a maximum budget of 4 million euros for the development of the selected projects. Of the total investment, the Biodiversity Foundation contributes to the financing with a maximum of 500,000 euros. Thus, the minimum amount of the projects will be €50,000 and the maximum of €200,000.
Among the recipients, public or semi-public bodies and private organizations recognized as brotherhoods, NGOs, scientific organizations or business associations of producers, processors or marketers may compete for collective actions.
In the case of projects aimed at promoting measures for the protection and development of aquatic fauna and flora, public or semi-public bodies and business associations of producers, processors and marketers may apply for this call for aid.
The proposals may also have collaborators who provide added value to the project without the need for a financial contribution to the initiative.
The EFF’s contribution to the financing of the projects in this call will be 75% of the eligible expenses. Public and semi-public bodies will contribute at least 25% of the eligible expenses. In the case of private organizations and business associations, co-financing is not required, the project being financed 100% by the Biodiversity Foundation and the FEP.
