The Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs (MARM), through the Directorate General of Rural Development, has approved the implementation of the project “Barrier-free routes + Tourism for all”, which will be developed in Extremadura and Portugal.

It is an interterritorial and transnational project that aims to implement accessible tourism for all citizens, eliminating physical, social, cultural and territorial barriers, and all those that hinder the enjoyment of leisure and tourism in equal conditions, in order to promote equal opportunities and the full social integration of people with reduced mobility and perception.

With this initiative, presented by the Regional Development Center of Tentudía (CEDECO TENTUDÍA), the aim is to normalize the concept of “universal accessibility” in the resources and services of the tourism sector, raising awareness among citizens, companies, municipalities and institutions about its importance, through forums, events and the edition of the accessible tourism guide “Routes without barriers” in digital and paper format.
