From the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) we have resolved the 2021 call for grants of the Empleaverde Program aimed at supporting entrepreneurs and which is co-financed by the European Social Fund. Finally, of the 32 entities that have presented their projects, six initiatives have been selected.
An amount of almost 400,000 euros to develop actions to support green entrepreneurship in rural areas and protected natural areas, promote entrepreneurship in the forestry and agri-food sector and connect rural entrepreneurship in a network. Within the framework of these projects, the aim is to train more than 600 people.
PROMOTING GREEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The Federation of Associations of Young Businesswomen and Entrepreneurs of Castilla – La Mancha, with its project “Ecologically based entrepreneurship in rural areas and protected natural areas” aims to give impetus and promote entrepreneurship based on the green economy, through training and advice actions in the format of the Emprendeverde Labs. Is aimed at 72 participants from the provinces of Jaén, Albacete, Cuenca and Toledo.
For its part, the Spanish Network of Entities for Employment – Red Araña with the “GO GREEN” project wants to promote the creation of green companies, based on the circular economy. The project will be developed in Badajoz, Extremadura, and is aimed at 16 participants.
MenorcaLab, a Social Initiative Cooperative Society, will carry out the project “(R)HUB Rural Network Entrepreneurship Program”, which will be carried out in the format of the Emprendeverde Labs. Is aimed at 20 participants from the province of Cáceres to promote the creation of green and circular companies through training and mentoring itineraries, to facilitate the regeneration of their territories and their populations.
On the other hand, Germinando, a social initiative cooperative, through the project “Collective strategies to scale and consolidate companies in the agri-food sector”, seeks to prevent the depopulation of rural areas in Extremadura and the Community of Madrid while aiming at the consolidation of companies in the agri-food sector. To this end, it will carry out training, advice and virtual international meetings with entities from France and Portugal for 70 participants.
The Sustainable Development and Promotion of Rural Employment Group (ADESPER) aims to increase the entrepreneurial skills of 400 people in the non-timber agroforestry sector (chestnut, mycological uses, nuts, red fruits and beekeeping), through training and advisory actions in Andalusia, Castilla y León, Asturias, Cantabria, Galicia and Extremadura. These actions are included within the project “Training, advice and exchange of good practices for entrepreneurship in non-timber forest products”.
Finally, the Galpagro Integrated Production Association will develop the project “Training plan to promote the creation of green companies in the agricultural sector”, which aims to train 45 new ventures to promote sustainability and digital innovation in the agri-food industry. Its scope of action extends to Andalusia, Castile-La Mancha and the Region of Murcia.
