The National Geographic Channel magazine has presented a set of initiatives at the Ministry of the Environment, including the first visit to Spain by the primatologist and conservationist Mireya Mayor and the collaboration with the musical group Macaco for the production of the video clip of her song “Mama Tierra”.

In the video of Macaco’s song ‘Mama Tierra’, for which the National Geographic Channel has provided images, a good number of artists from the world of music, film and television have also participated, such as Julieta Venegas, Concha García Campoy, Jon Sistiaga, Estopa, Fito, Eva H, Luis Tosar and Bebe, who have wanted to join this initiative.

World Earth Day was established to promote a common awareness of the environmental problems that our planet suffers. The first celebration took place in 1970 at the initiative of the US senator, Taylor Nelson. Since then, a large number of activities have been carried out every April 22 around the world. This year’s campaign slogan is: “A call to action against climate change”
