The Biodiversity Foundation launches the “Biodiversity Reporting Award 2005”. It is an annual contest, whose main objective is to raise awareness of the great biological diversity that our country has as well as the problems faced by its conservation.
The Biodiversity Foundation wants to be a benchmark in the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, hence the call for this pioneering initiative in the Spanish journalistic scene, since one of its priorities is to disseminate to society all those initiatives whose purpose is the preservation of the environment.
This contest is open to all reports on biodiversity conservation that have been published in the written press and online media or broadcast on Spanish radio or television from January 1 to December 1, 2005. The prize for the winning work will be 3,000 euros in each category.
The jury, made up of renowned personalities from the world of communication, science and the environment, will especially value those reports that highlight their relationship with sustainable development, the mobilisation of citizens in the defence of natural resources and those that are based on the strategic lines of the Biodiversity Foundation.
