The document entitled ‘Biodiversity in Spain. Basis of sustainability in the face of global change’, carried out in 2010 by the Observatory of Sustainability in Spain (OSE), with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, was presented on Wednesday, June 8 in the auditorium of the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs (MARM).
The event was chaired by the general director of Natural Environment and Forest Policy of the MARM, José Jiménez García-Herrera. The Director of Projects of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ignacio Torres, and the naturalist and environmental communicator, Joaquín Araújo, also attended. The presentation of the report was made by the executive director of the SBI, Luis M. Jiménez Herrero.
This eighth thematic report of the SBI addresses, among other topics, land use in Spain, the effects of climate change, ecological connectivity and coherence, and the economics of biodiversity.
