The flight of the Iberian imperial eagle through the skies of Spain. And with it the preservation of the species and its habitat. That is the objective and desire of the “Alzando el vuelo” Stewardship Network, a project promoted by SEO/BirdLife.
SEO/BirdLife began the journey of this project in 2006, in collaboration with Adif, the Biodiversity Foundation and Obra Social Caja Madrid. In 2009, the second phase began, in which “Taking Flight” managed to involve three key sectors in the preservation of this emblematic species: the public, private and educational sectors. In this way, they have been able to make the preservation policies of public administrations compatible with the management of the territory and the educational development necessary to promote awareness of the conservation of biodiversity.
And showing the public all these actions is now possible thanks to the new video launched by SEO/Bird Life. “Custody Network Taking flight: conservation of the Iberian imperial eagle” shows the work of the Network, with spectacular close-ups of this species, considered in danger of extinction. For this video, SEO/BirdLife has had the collaboration of the journalist Toni Garrido as a broadcaster, as well as that of the Italian musician and pianist Ludovico Einaudi. The best? The voices of the protagonists who keep this project alive.
