The director of the Biodiversity Foundation (FB), Sonia Castañeda, has signed a collaboration agreement in Berlin with the director of “Biodiversity In Good Company”, Carolin Bossmeyer. The aim of this firm is to develop a solid framework for cooperation with companies in Spain to mobilise their commitments to biodiversity conservation, a proposal similar to the one that has already been implemented in Germany and other countries.
“Biodiversity In Good Company” (BiGC) is an initiative launched and led by the German Government in 2008, which aims to provide companies with the necessary tools to be able to update the link between business and biodiversity conservation. In 2011, the private sector took over and today it is a non-profit association run by companies, actively cooperating with the German Ministry of the Environment, European Union institutions and other organisations.
With this agreement, BiGC becomes a partner in the initiative that the FB is going to develop in Spain, transferring the knowledge acquired in its 4 years of existence.
This action is part of the Spanish Business and Biodiversity Initiative (IEBE), which will be launched by the FB in 2013.
