The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Sonia Castañeda, has participated in the First Global Meeting for Environmental Education, held in Barcelona, which aims to get national and international institutions to exchange ideas and experiences to develop guidelines to help promote environmental education from their own organizations.

This meeting has been one of the highlights of the 20th edition of the International Environmental Film Festival, which has been held in Barcelona since November 1, and which has already become the oldest in the world of its kind and internationally recognized with several awards.

During her speech, Sonia Castañeda stressed that “from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, and more specifically from the Biodiversity Foundation, we work so that the protection of the environment serves to improve the quality of life of citizens. Life on the planet, social well-being and the economy depend on biodiversity, and our duty is to work to protect it.”

The Biodiversity Foundation, within its Call for Grants Program, has collaborated in 14 Environmental Education projects in schools with the aim of promoting values among schoolchildren such as the protection of nature, coexistence with our fauna and conservation of our ecosystems.
