The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Sonia Castañeda, today visited the Mama Terra Ecological Children’s Festival, an event held within the framework of the BioCultura Fair of organic products and responsible consumption, organized by the Vida Sana association, which this year celebrates its 30th edition.
This festival has been running since 2007 with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, and aims to raise awareness among children of the concept of biodiversity and its different implications through the promotion of organic school gardens and other activities.
The programmed activities, also aimed at families and educators, are designed for children to learn about the origin of organic food and the different sources of renewable energy while playing and having fun.
The program includes workshops on organic cooking and the cultivation of school gardens, as well as various games that inform about how to create a vertical garden and raise awareness of the importance of recycling.
The MamaTerra Ecological Children’s Festival takes place in Pavilion 9 of the Madrid Fairgrounds and can be visited between November 14 and 16.
