The Biodiversity Foundation calls for grants for the development of environmental activities

The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of the Environment announces the granting of grants for the implementation of activities related to the environment for the year 2007, aimed at public and private non-profit entities based in Spain.

The amount that will be allocated to these grants for the development of projects that are framed in any of the established modalities is € 3,000,000. For each of these modalities, which coincide with the nine strategic lines of the Biodiversity Foundation, a budget has been established and assigned.

This call presents a novelty. It is the incorporation of two sublines. One of them, 1B, is specifically dedicated to the Spanish Biosphere Reserves of UNESCO’s MaB programme, while the second, 9B, is dedicated to the Network of Biosphere Reserves in Portugal and Latin America.

The modalities are mutually exclusive and the same project cannot participate in more than one of them at a time. Likewise, the bases of this call establish that the aid granted to each entity will not exceed 200,000 euros and that the projects may be financed up to a maximum of 70%.

Entities wishing to apply for these grants have until 2 March 2007 to submit their application. Applications must be submitted or sent by post to the Biodiversity Foundation, Calle Fortuny, 7, ground floor. 28010 Madrid.

The terms and conditions of the call can be consulted on the website of the Biodiversity Foundation: www.fundacion-biodiversidad.es
