The Biodiversity Foundation, Spanish Television and Avatar Wildlife launch “Biodiario”, a dissemination micro-space directed and presented by the naturalist Luis Miguel Domínguez, which will be broadcast from today, daily, in the afternoons of Televisión Española 2.

With these five-minute informative pieces, made in high definition, Spanish Television and the Biodiversity Foundation commemorate the International Year of Biodiversity and propose that viewers think about the value of natural heritage and its close link with people’s health and quality of life.

The microspace, directed and presented by the naturalist Luis Miguel Domínguez (“Amazonia, last call”, “Street fauna”), will put a face and name to the current situation of biodiversity in Spain. It will also present models of rural development that respect the environment. And in each broadcast, a “bio-advice” will be offered that viewers will be able to put into practice in their daily lives.

Within the framework of the week “Concienciados TVE con el medio ambiente”, which begins on public television today, coinciding with World Water Day, the afternoons of La 2 will start each day with “Biodiario” and will continue with the broadcast of “El hombre y la Tierra”, that jewel of the dissemination of nature issues directed by Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente. an unavoidable reference. The motto of “Biodiario” says “Because biodiversity is life and we like to live”, thus giving continuity to the spirit of the naturalist, an unavoidable reference in the activity, whose death this month marks 30 years these days.

“The passage of the cranes through Extremadura, coming from Europe”, “The flowering of the peony in the cork oak forests”, “The rutting of the deer in Irati” and “The birth of a rabbit in the mountain of El Pardo” are the first biological events that viewers will be able to enjoy as an important part of their daily news.

Twenty documentaries, programmes and news programmes complete this week’s special programme dedicated to raising awareness among citizens about the importance of caring for the Planet. Until March 28, RTVE will adapt its content (the news will include a report on environmental issues every day), with the collaboration of Radio Nacional de España, which joins with the program “Reserva Natural” and with special content on the RTVE.es website.

During the next weekend, TVE will continue the programming dedicated to the protection of the environment. Thus, also in collaboration with the Biodiversity Foundation, on Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m., La 2 will broadcast the excellent production “Biosphere Reserves” and, later, “Spain, the Paradise Found”, a documentary about the endemic Spanish flora and fauna.
