RTVE launches the podcast ‘La Mar Salada’, directed and presented by the journalist and comedian Juan Luis Cano, from Gomaespuma, which promotes the importance of knowing and conserving marine resources and the culture associated with the sea, as well as marine ecosystems and their importance in the sustainability of the planet, all in a lighthearted and fun tone, but rigorous. The complete series can be listened to from Monday, September 29 on RNE Audio.
‘La Mar Salada’ arises with the aim of generating scientific knowledge and promoting protection measures, using humor as a way to reach more audiences and achieve impact. There are 11 one-hour episodes in which the common thread is the sea, but which address different topics such as art, culture or history. There is no shortage of curiosities, monologues, human stories or interviews linked to marine conservation
The episodes, produced by Juan Luis Cano and his team, made up of journalists Curra Fernández and Rosa Rodríguez Caro, can be heard on RNE Audio, and will also be available on the website of the Biodiversity Foundation.
“Silvia Earle says that “Without blue there is no green” and so it is, and I add that what is not known cannot be loved and respected, so it is practically an obligation of those of us who are dedicated to the media to publicize the importance that the sea had, has and will have in the life of the planet and in the history of humanity”, Juan Luis Cano highlights this project.
The Biodiversity Foundation and the General Directorate of Biodiversity, Forests and Desertification of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) have promoted the podcast ‘La Mar Salada’, in collaboration with the journalist and comedian Juan Luis Cano and RTVE. This initiative is part of the LIFE INTEMARES project, coordinated by the Biodiversity Foundation (MITECO) and with the financial contribution of the LIFE Programme of the European Union.
