The Red emprendeverde 2012 Awards, convened by the Biodiversity Foundation and presented on October 31 by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, Miguel Arias Cañete, have recognized the work of those entrepreneurs whose projects contribute to the development of the sustainable economy, thus helping them to create or consolidate their companies and businesses.

The Red emprendeverde 2012 Awards, convened by the Biodiversity Foundation and presented on October 31 by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, Miguel Arias Cañete, have recognized the work of those entrepreneurs whose projects contribute to the development of the sustainable economy, thus helping them to create or consolidate their companies and businesses.

The seven award-winning business projects are: Lumínica Ambiental and Eco2Next, in the category of “New business initiative”; Imener Sustainable Energy and KAI Marine Services, in the category of “New business lines linked to the environment in existing companies”; Technet Sostenibilidad and Onyxsolar, in the category of “Existing company with a maximum of 5 years of age”, and the company Abella Lupa, which has received the Special Mention for the “Business initiative that makes a significant contribution to the protection of biodiversity”.

The projects that have received prizes in kind account for 17.36% of the 190 competing projects and have corresponded to 33 companies or initiatives: Tienda de Senderismo Isa-Bel, Biomasa Canarias S.L, Dinamo Papelerías Sostenibles, elittoral, Eco2Next Solutions, S.L., Technet sostenibilidad en transporte, S.L., Laura Martínez, EmpléateVerde (enviroo), eConstruye, CorchoySurf, Maculata, Agua de Niebla, Flamasurf, Ozone Drive, BBcloset, La Agroteca, Wind-light, Peepple Energía Social (in the “New Business Initiative” category); Cenit Solar, Quilania, Sustainable Reference, Vermytec Ambiental (in the category “New business lines linked to the environment in existing companies”); Naturix, Vivainnova, Bodevici Bioconcept, Libelium, Arom Bait, Fluff Company, Geolica Innovations, Seneca, La Magdalena de Proust, Heligemas and Glen Biotech S.L. (in the category “Existing company with a maximum of 5 years of age”).

The total endowment of these awards has been 150,000 euros in prizes (100,000 euros in kind and 50,000 euros in economic prizes). The in-kind awards include different support or services, such as support in the search for and negotiation of private financing, specialized advice for the start-up of the business, coaching, startup, production of informative videos of the business and/or specialized advice on commercialization and marketing.
