The Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment today held Green Circular Day, a meeting that highlighted the business and employment opportunities offered by the circular economy.

The conference, which took place at the Círculo de Bellas Artes and was attended by nearly 200 people, was inaugurated by the director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Sonia Castañeda, accompanied by the director of International Relations and Affiliated Companies of ECOEMBES, Begoña de Benito. In addition, it has had the participation of more than 20 speakers, such as the founder of the Agency for the Promotion of Environmental Protection (EPEA), Michael Braungart, who has explained to the attendees the method “The Cradle to Cradle”, based on a constant reuse of resources.

This meeting is part of the “Eco-Recinnova” programme, which the Biodiversity Foundation, through the Emprendeverde Network, has launched in collaboration with ECOEMBES, and coincides with the new circular economy strategy being launched by the European Union.

Through different round tables, the opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment offered by this sector have been highlighted. In addition, several entrepreneurs from the Network participated, presenting their innovative experiences in the field of the circular economy.

A Market-place, a Networking area and a panel have also been set up in which circular solutions to different challenges proposed by the entrepreneurs themselves were sought.
