The president of the Biodiversity Foundation, a public foundation of the Government of Spain, under the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, Josep Puxeu, together with the rector of the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP), Salvador Ordóñez, and the vice-rector for International and Institutional Relations of the National University of Distance Education (UNED), inaugurated today, in Madrid, the IX edition of the Master’s Degree in Environmental Management and Administration of the Biodiversity Foundation, at the headquarters of the Ministry of the Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs.

The Master’s Degree in Environmental Management and Administration of the Biodiversity Foundation stands out for addressing updated content in relation to the policies and strategies of both the Government of Spain and the European Union (EU) and with the methodologies and instruments of environmental management and planning.

The programme is designed to acquire an integrative vision of the environmental factor as a cornerstone of sustainable development, as well as a deep understanding of the strategies, policies, planning instruments and tools available to ensure sustainable management and use of natural resources and adequate management of environmental quality.

The IX Master’s Degree in Environmental Management and Administration of the Biodiversity Foundation is taught for the second consecutive year as a UNED-specific degree, in collaboration with the UIMP, and has a recognized prestige in postgraduate training in environmental matters in Spain.

Backed by a long history of ten years, this degree has a faculty of first-rate professors, made up of experts and professionals from the academic and professional world, with a presence in decision-making bodies of leading institutions. Its theoretical content is completed with professional internships in public institutions and private companies in the sector.

Aimed at university graduates and professionals from any sector, the Master’s Degree in Environmental Management and Administration of the Biodiversity Foundation is open to students from a wide variety of disciplines. More than 200 students from different degrees such as Biology, Environmental Sciences, Business, Economic Sciences or Law have passed through its classrooms, who are currently developing their professional activity as environmental managers, both in the Public Administration and in the private sector.
