The Biodiversity Foundation has extended the deadline to participate in the “Ideas for the Planet” contest until October 1. The initiative seeks to encourage citizen participation of children and young people by rewarding their ideas to conserve the planet.

The contest, which consists of two categories: children (from 7 to 11 years old) and youth (from 12 to 16 years old), aims for children and young people to observe and analyze their environment, propose their ideas to take care of the planet and capture them in an image.

Among the ideas and photographs received, the best in each category will be awarded with a trip for four people to one of the Parks that make up the Network of National Parks: Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici, Archipelago of Cabrera, Cabañeros, Caldera de Taburiente, Doñana, Garajonay, Atlantic Islands of Galicia, Monfragüe, Ordesa and Monte Perdido, Picos de Europa, Sierra Nevada, Tablas de Daimiel, Teide and Timanfaya.

The Biodiversity Foundation has set up an online space on its website, where ideas to take care of the planet can be collected, through a photo and a brief text explaining the idea of conserving the planet. Those interested will be able to send their ideas through the website, which will also serve as a platform for participation and exchange of information with children and young people.
