With this initiative, developed by SEO/BirdLife in collaboration with Adif and the Biodiversity Foundation, an appeal is made to all schools that are within the species’ distribution area.

With the launch of the Network of Schools for the Imperial Eagle, the “Taking Flight” Programme, developed by SEO/BirdLife in collaboration with Adif and the Biodiversity Foundation, calls on all schools that are within the species’ distribution area.

The radius of action of the program is the autonomous communities of Madrid, Castilla-La Mancha, Andalusia, Extremadura and Castilla y León, so that with their adhesion, they are part of an interesting and educational conservation program.

Having citizen participation is one of the most effective means of conserving the natural habitat of the Iberian imperial eagle and, for this reason, the “Taking flight” program has developed an extensive awareness campaign aimed at the population that lives with the species. In this context, the Network of Schools for the Imperial Eagle was born.

Being part of the Network of Schools for the Imperial Eagle means receiving interesting educational materials aimed at the conservation of the imperial eagle and its habitat, as well as an exhibition that can be exhibited in the educational center, participate in a contest with great prizes as well as receive talks and carry out various activities in the classes.

Teachers will receive advice on how to dynamize the materials received to achieve the education and awareness of students in the conservation of the Iberian imperial eagle. The schools that join the program are committed to educating and raising awareness about the conservation of the species.
