The Council of Ministers has authorised the signing of a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of the Environment and the Autonomous Community of Andalusia to develop various actions in the field of hydrological-forest restoration in Andalusia.

The Ministry of the Environment, through the Directorate General for Biodiversity, will allocate 14,871,968 euros for the financing of these actions. This amount will be distributed in three annuities, corresponding to 2006, 2007 and 2008.

The Spanish Forest Plan is committed to the collaboration of the General State Administration and the Autonomous Communities to support and support the actions that the Communities carry out or propose in their corresponding strategic forest planning documents.

In this context, the agreement to be signed by both Administrations includes actions aimed at the restoration of the vegetation cover and the expansion of the wooded area through hydrological-forest restoration, including within this concept works such as protective reforestation, hydrology works and conservation and improvement work on the vegetation cover.
