The Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs (MARM) and the Biodiversity Foundation are participating with a fun and educational stand at the Children’s Family Leisure Show, DABADUM, which is being held from 6 to 11 December at the Feria de Madrid (IFEMA).
The MARM stand, which will promote the actions of “Spain recycles”, is located in the space of the fair “The World of the Environment and Protected Species”, has the collaboration of the Ecolec Foundation for the management of the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment, the Ambilamp association for the recycling of lamps, the Ecopilas Foundation for the environmental management of batteries and the Tragamóvil Foundation for the recycling of telephone and electronic equipment. communications.
With their presence in DABADUM, the MARM and the FB aim to sensitize and raise awareness among young people about the need to preserve the environment that surrounds us through good environmental practices. To this end, a series of games and activities have been designed to disseminate among participants the importance of individual behaviours in the preservation of natural heritage and our own health and quality of life.
Thus, the little ones will be able to learn about the problems of the most endangered species in our country through the dynamic group game “Save biodiversity”, similar to the popular game of the goose, in which they will learn to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and the care of the environment. In addition to the lynx, the capercaillie and the brown bear, there are a number of secondary characters representing endangered species such as the ferreret, the Iberian wolf, the imperial eagle and the loggerhead turtle.
Likewise, a series of workshops and educational activities will be carried out in which children will learn how to recycle correctly and where to deposit the different types of waste. In addition, the mascots of the Biodiversity Foundation, the bear “Robin” and the lynx “Mayú”, accompanied by the mascots of the Ecolec Foundation, “Raeecycla” and the Tragamóvil Foundation, “El Tragamóvil”, will be at the MARM stand to accompany the little ones. All those who participate in the different games and workshops will be given educational and recreational material.
For this edition of DABADUM, the MARM and the Biodiversity Foundation have designed a sustainable stand, using the principles of eco-design to minimise environmental impacts in its construction and contents.
