The Ministries of the Environment and of the Economy and Finance have reached an agreement authorizing the former to make expenditure commitments, charged to future years, on infrastructure and water quality, for the “Water Quality” programme managed by the Directorate-General for Water.
The initial appropriation for this programme in 2006 is EUR 285.8 million, which allows commitments to be made in future years (from 2007 to 2010). Already in this year, the Council of Ministers authorised the limit of commitments for the 2007 financial year to be raised to 92.71%.
With this elevation of limits, it is intended, on the one hand, to tender new sanitation and treatment actions, for example Collectors in Orense and, secondly, to start the execution of actions whose construction projects have already been approved, such as the E.D.A.R of Epele (Guipúzcoa), Azuaga (Badajoz), Almonte-Rociana-Bollullos (Huelva), Torrox (Málaga) and Alcázares (Murcia).
