The Spanish Aquaculture Observatory Foundation (OESA) has announced the first edition of the Acuiverde Awards within the project “Aquaculture activity as a driver of rural development and dynamizer of green employment in Extremadura”, developed within the framework of the Empleaverde Program.

The Acuiverde Awards were created with the aim of supporting the promotion of business initiatives that manage to combine aquaculture activities with sustainable development in rural areas.

This recognition is intended to distinguish SMEs, micro-SMEs and the self-employed for the environmental and innovative value of their projects, estimating their scope and significant contributions to the environment in rural areas of the community of Extremadura.

The deadline for submitting applications will remain open until October 2, 2012. More information at www.fundacionoesa.es.
