In October, the 10th edition of the academic year of the Master’s Degree in Environmental Management and Administration of the Biodiversity Foundation, a public foundation of the Government of Spain, under the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, begins. Registration is open until September 25.
With a practical orientation and consistent with the demands of the labour market, the Master’s Degree is aimed at university graduates who wish to consolidate their professional projection in the environmental sector, both in public institutions and in the private sector.
The Master’s Degree was born a decade ago, when environmental challenges emerged strongly in the national and international context. So, the Biodiversity Foundation set out to create a base of knowledge and professional capacity to devise solutions and imagine the best way to reconcile social and economic development with the sustainable use of natural resources.
In this endeavour, the Foundation recently added the experience and academic prestige of two important national universities: today the Master’s degree is taught as a degree of the National University of Distance Education (UNED), in collaboration with the Menéndez Pelayo International University (UIMP).
The study program provides students with an integrative vision of the environmental factor as a cornerstone of development, as well as a deep understanding of the strategies, policies, planning instruments, and tools available to ensure the sustainable use of natural resources and adequate management of environmental quality.
Climate change, water, biodiversity, coasts, waste, emissions, renewable energies, EMAS, stock market indices of corporate sustainability are some of the concepts with which students become familiar throughout the course.
The teaching staff is made up of renowned experts from the academic, business and public administration worlds, which allows them to offer a close view of the circumstances in which environmental management is carried out, as well as its complexity and evolution over time. Skills that are especially valued in professionals in the sector, whose training the course aims at.
