The Seville headquarters hosts a conference on aquaculture and fisheries

On 24 and 25 November, the Seville headquarters of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment hosted two events in which various issues related to aquaculture, the Common Fisheries Policy and responsible fishing were discussed.

The conference on “Common Fisheries Policy, fisheries sustainability and information provided to the final consumer in fishery products” was aimed at professionals and consumers specialising in fishery products and addressed issues on the Common Fisheries Policy, the information provided to the end consumer by retail professionals of fishery products and fishing gear.

For its part, the “Workshop on prevention and mitigation of escapes in aquaculture” has dealt with issues related to the dissemination of the ESCA-FEP project, the presentation of the conclusions and the training booklets, and has included an exchange of opinions on the prevention and mitigation of impacts in aquaculture.

The Spanish Fisheries Confederation (CEPESCA), the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU), the General Secretariat of Fisheries through its General Subdirectorates of Fisheries Economy and National Fishing Ground Community Waters and Aquaculture and the National Federation of Provincial Associations of Retail Entrepreneurs of Fish and Frozen Products (FEDEPESCA) have intervened in this conference.
