The director of the Biodiversity Foundation, Ana Leiva, and the Councilor for the Environment of the City of Logroño, La Rioja, Concepción Arribas, presented last Friday, at the headquarters of the City Council of Logroño, the joint project “Urban Environmental Education”.
It is an awareness and sensitization program in fields related to the urban environment; specifically: the water cycle, parks and gardens and waste.
Among the topics to be addressed are: the origin of wastewater and the operation of a Drinking Water Treatment Plant (DWTP); pollutants and water-saving measures; the changes that nature undergoes in the city; the recycling and waste reduction cycle. The Programme will also promote attitudes of respect for the environment.
