This Friday, March 15, students from more than 100 countries are demonstrating to demand global solutions and actions against the effects of climate change. In Spain, students have organized themselves in the Youth for Climate movement and are holding more than 60 events throughout the country.
The students intend to warn with these mobilizations that adults are not doing enough to fight against climate change and that they are the ones who will suffer the consequences.
With these mobilizations, the students intend to raise awareness about the extreme situation that the Planet suffers due to the extinction of species, the melting of ice, the continuous increase in temperatures or atmospheric pollution.
The countries that host the most mobilizations are France (210 cities), Germany (196), Italy (182), the United States (166), Sweden (123), the United Kingdom (108) and Spain (62).
These mobilizations arise after the movement created by the Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, who has decided to stand in front of her country’s Parliament every Friday demanding that the measures contemplated in the Paris Agreement on climate be complied with.
