Three out of four responsible beach bars are in Andalusia

73% of the responsible beach bars adhering to the decalogue of good practices promoted by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment in its Responsible Beach Bars project, are located in Andalusia.

The Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands, Murcia and Catalonia, in this order, follow the Andalusian community in the number of responsible hospitality establishments on the beach. Other autonomous communities adhering to the decalogue of good practices and that have responsible beach bars are Galicia, the Canary Islands and Melilla.

All these autonomous communities have beach bars committed to the environment that carry out different activities to complement the development of their economic activity with the maintenance of the environment. To this end, they are implementing initiatives such as selective waste collection, water and energy saving and environmental awareness.

Beach bars interested in participating in the IV Edition of the Responsible Beach Bar Awards can submit their applications until June 22. To do this, they must adhere to the Decalogue of Good Environmental Practices, a commitment to which 645 beach bars throughout Spain have already adhered.
