The European Commission today presents the European Business Awards for the Environment, the most prestigious award in the field of sustainable business development. Among the twelve finalists of this edition, two Spanish companies compete: DTS Oabe and Acería Compacta de Bizkaia, which have been chosen from more than 130 candidacies from 23 European countries.
The European Business Awards for the Environment, which are held within the framework of the European Green Week, reach their 10th edition this year and are convened by the Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission. Its objective is to publicly recognize those organizations that have contributed to the fulfillment of the principles of sustainable development through their actions.
The event will be attended, as a member of the European jury, by the Director General of Quality and Environmental Assessment of the Ministry of the Environment, Jaime Alejandre, together with the Director of the Entorno-BCSD Spain Foundation, Cristina García-Orcoyen and representatives of the two finalist companies.
