During this meeting, the advisory group, made up of experts from different fields, has set out the objectives and means of the evaluation and the aspects to be evaluated throughout the process.
Today we have participated in the first meeting for the evaluation of the National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change (PNACC), within the framework of the LIFE SHARA project. During this meeting, the advisory group, made up of experts from different fields (European institutions, the academic sector, the private sector, research, civil society, autonomous communities and the General State Administration), has set out the objectives and means of the evaluation and the aspects to be evaluated throughout the process.
In the next fifteen months, the in-depth evaluation of the Plan will be carried out, which will include an analysis of the impact of the activities that have been carried out in the field of adaptation in Spain and their contribution to strengthening the country’s resilience to climate change.
This is the first meeting of the advisory group of the four scheduled between 2018 and 2019, when the final evaluation report and the draft of the new National Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change will be presented.
With the LIFE SHARA cWe work to build a society that is better adapted to climate change, cooperating with all the actors involved, generating knowledge and increasing social awareness. LIFE SHARA is coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment, has a budget of more than 1.5 million euros, 57% co-financed through LIFE funds, and has as partners the Spanish Office for Climate Change, the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the Autonomous Agency of National Parks -through the National Center for Environmental Education (CENEAM)- and the Portuguese Agency for the Environment.
