In the tenth installment of “Naturalmente” we chat with Pepa Muñoz, chef who runs “El Qüenco de Pepa”. The success of her cuisine, recognized with a Michelin star, lies in the good treatment of raw materials, respect for the seasons, creativity and improvisation to invent dishes depending on the ingredients she collects daily from her garden. Pepa Muñoz is dedication, simplicity and sensitivity, which she has acquired over the years, since she was 9 years old cleaning squid and anchovies in the family business. At the age of 11 she was already helping her father in the kitchen of the bar he ran in Madrid, an experience that has led her to become one of the most renowned chefs in our country.

In the ninth episode of “Naturally” we are visited by Cesar Bona, recognized in 2015 as one of the 50 best teachers in the world, after 16 years of practice. The recognition for this graduate in English Philology and diploma in Foreign Language Teaching, has helped him to share his way of teaching and learning from childhood with teachers from all over the world. He is the author of titles such as The New Education, Schools that Change the World, The Thrill of Learning, Humanizing Education and Sustainable Education, a reference today for thousands of teachers, which he presents in this podcast.

Episode 8 of “Naturally” is about cinema, cinema with capital letters. We are visited by José María Morales, film producer who founded the production company Wanda in 1992, and from which more than 85 nationally and internationally recognized films have been made. His track record includes three Oscar nominations, 3 Golden Osellas in Venice, 3 Goya awards, the Golden Spike at the Valladolid Film Festival, the Golden Shell at the San Sebastian Film Festival and the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival.

His love for nature led him to create Wanda Natura, the brand under which he produces and distributes films, documentaries and series in which biodiversity is the protagonist, with titles such as Nómadas del viento, Entrelobos, Guadalquivir, Cantábrico, Dehesa, El Faro de las Orcas, Panteras and currently, in post-production, two more works: Los últimos pastores and “Doñana, Reserva salvaje de Europa”. A commitment to environmental and social values that the Film Academy has recognized with the First Green Ray Award.

Anna Casals is an art historian and has dedicated her professional life to bringing art and books to children. For more than 15 years she has been an editor of children’s literature at Grupo Planeta. Paolo Ferri is an environmental engineer and founder of the start-up Wecity, an application that certifies the CO2 generated by our daily commute and classifies it as sustainable or not. In this interview we talk about their passion for books and stories, something that has brought them together to create stories such as Cuentos para salvar el planeta, Yo cuido el planeta or La Isla. In this talk we talk about the importance of accessible and quality content for children about the major environmental problems we face today.

Ferrán Campillo i López is a pediatrician. He studied Medicine at the University Rovira i Virgili in Barcelona, specialized in Pediatrics at the Hospital Universitario La Paz and in environmental pediatrics at the Virgen de la Arrixaca in Murcia.

Currently, she consults in Primary Care and also works in the Environmental Pediatrics Unit of the Fundació Hospital d’Olot i Comarcal de la Garrotxa.

She participates in initiatives such as #RevoltaEscolar to free school environments from cars and thus improve the air quality of these spaces and leads the initiative Bosques para la salud, whose objective is to plant a tree for each baby born at the Hospital d’Olot, so that they grow together.

Anna Cabré is a climate physicist and oceanographer. Although her first steps in the world of science led her to deepen her knowledge of the universe, she decided to look closer and made the sea her object of study. She uses computational models to analyze the role of the ocean in the earth’s climate and how they help us in the fight against climate change. Committed to the role of women in decision-making in sectors related to environmental conservation, in 2019 she was part of an expedition to Antarctica, along with 6 other Spanish women, in what was the largest female expedition in history to the Antarctic Peninsula, within the Homeward Bound project.

José Moisés Martín Carretero is an economist, university professor and CEO of Red2Red, among others. He has been responsible for the Fund for the Promotion of Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and has collaborated with the OECD, the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the World Bank and the International Labor Organization. In his latest book, The Future of Prosperity. The birth of a new economy gives us the keys on how to successfully achieve a new economic model, which involves accelerating the ecological transition and doing it with justice. He sees the digital, economic and environmental transformation as a historic opportunity to bring about a fairer and more sustainable world, and the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals as a roadmap for achieving social and economic progress.

María Lafuente is a fashion designer committed to sustainability. She is the granddaughter of a tailor, whom she never met, but who has marked her career and her way of sewing. Since she was very young, León has been her adopted city. There she began her training, which she completed in Paris. Her work has led her to travel the world, to collaborate with the cinema and has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Golden Thimble. Art, nature, innovation, solidarity and sustainability come together in her collections, with which she claims a lifestyle committed to the values necessary to live in harmony with nature.

Juan Luis Cano was born in 1960 in a well-known neighborhood of Madrid, Carabanchel. He studied journalism and triumphed as co-host, along with Guillermo Fesser, of the radio program Gomaespuma, a comedy show that was broadcast on different radio stations between 1980 and 2007. In this second episode of “Naturalmente” we talk about his environmental concerns, his passion for scuba diving, the role of the media, business and politics. For Juan Luis Cano, the future lies in “global degrowth”, even if that means losing “quality of life”.

Jacob Petrus, geographer and director of the TVE program Aquí la Tierra, is the first guest of the podcast Naturalmente. Born in Manresa in 1976, he was always interested in everything related to nature and, although he wanted to study journalism, he found in Geography a career that covered much of his concerns. That’s how he discovered meteorology and the possibility of working in the media as a “weatherman”. Before making the leap to TVE, he was in charge of giving the weather report in various media. Since 2014 he has presented Aquí la Tierra, which is broadcast every afternoon on Televisión Española.
