The initiative seeks to contribute to the mitigation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the adaptation of the agricultural system to the new climatic conditions that occur with global warming.
The initiative seeks to contribute to the mitigation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and the adaptation of the agricultural system to the new climatic conditions that occur with global warming.
The specific objectives of the project are:
- Develop a sustainable management system in extensive crops, capable of mitigating and adapting to climate change.
- To provide farmers with tools to reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption on farms.
- To raise awareness and train potential beneficiaries on the values, habits and customs they should adopt, in order to promote a process of change from management systems based on cultural roots, towards sustainable cultivation techniques that mitigate climate change.
- To publicise the project to the potential actors involved and the main beneficiaries, to inform and communicate the results of the project to public and private bodies and entities involved and interested in the project.
- Encourage the participation of the target audience in the activities contemplated in the initiative.
The activities that will be developed within the framework of the project are the following:
- Implementation and management of agricultural techniques to mitigate climate change.
- Verification of the adaptability of good sustainable agricultural practices.
- Development of a virtual tool for assessing emissions on farms.
- Preparation of informative material on good agricultural practices to mitigate climate change.
- Holding of practical conferences and training courses on strategies to be followed in the agricultural sector to alleviate climate change.
- Development of a communication and dissemination plan.
