The I Green Employment Marathon organized by the MAPAMA Biodiversity Foundation has brought together about 70 participants in Seville.
The I Green Employment Marathon organized by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment (MAPAMA) has brought together, in Seville, about 70 participants in search of green employment as employees or who need a boost to launch their own green entrepreneurship business initiative.
During the conference, which took place at the headquarters of the Biodiversity Foundation in the capital of Seville, the importance of initiatives such as the Empleaverde Programme or the Emprendeverde Network, promoted by MAPAMA through the Biodiversity Foundation, co-financed by the European Social Fund, and which aim to promote employment and the creation and consolidation of companies or new lines of business in related activities, was highlighted to the environment.
MEETING POINT BETWEEN COMPANIES AND ENTREPRENEURS
The event has been organized through presentations, round tables and workshops in which participants have made their talent known and have been able to improve their skills in areas such as public presentation and personal branding.
Throughout the day, this Green Employment Marathon has put participants in contact with companies from different economic activities linked to the environment in search of green talent. In addition, the participants have been in contact with entrepreneurs who have consolidated their green business initiative and with advisors and mentors who have advised and guided them, highlighting their entrepreneurial skills and locating the strengths of their professional profiles.
At the end of the day, a recognition was given among the participating entrepreneurs for the Best Business Idea, awarded to Adela Chamorro Hernández, who presented a brand of ecological underwear made with organic cotton and low-impact dyes. The second prize went to Francisca Godino Roca, for her idea of a children’s and young people’s environmental education publishing house. In addition, among the participants looking for employment as an employee, the recognition for the Best Curriculum has gone to Víctor Gutiérrez García.
In addition, thanks to participation in this Green Employment Marathon, a free support program will be offered for a selection of 25 unemployed people who want to start a business and for those who are looking for employment as employees.
GREENWEEKEND EMPRENDEVERDE SEVILLA
The Green Employment Marathon will be complemented by the Greenweekend emprendeverde Sevilla, which will take place on 10, 11 and 12 November in the same space, and which will serve to promote, in a collaborative way, the implementation of green entrepreneurship projects.
Greenweekend emprendeverde Sevilla, also organized by the Biodiversity Foundation in collaboration with Enviroo, is an event that promotes the creation of green companies and the improvement of the professional skills of the participants. It combines training workshops and face-to-face work in which, with the support of trainers and mentors, ideas are developed to create new green companies with online training pills and a distance accompaniment program that will be taught once the event is held.
