The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment allocates 500,000 euros to the promotion of environmental information with a call for grants aimed at the media

The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment, through the Biodiversity Foundation, has published its call for grants for the promotion of environmental information in the media (written press, television, radio or digital media) endowed with 500,000 euros.

With this initiative, published today in the Official State Gazette, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment aims to promote the promotion of environmental information in the media, with the aim of increasing society’s awareness of the conservation of biodiversity, the fight against climate change and the importance of moving towards a green and sustainable economy. The call seeks to increase the presence of environmental information in the media as a way of educating and raising awareness among citizens.

This call for grants is open to communication groups with national or regional news editions in various media, digital editions, radio stations and television channels with national or regional coverage, and national news agencies.

REGULATORY BASES

To obtain this aid, the entities, among other requirements published in the Regulatory Bases of the call, must have a minimum circulation of readers, unique users, listeners or viewers, as well as have profiles on different social networks such as Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

The overall endowment of the call is 500,000 euros and the maximum amount to be requested per entity may not exceed 100,000 euros, which will represent a maximum of 70% of the total project presented. Each entity may submit only one proposal for evaluation.

The period of execution of the projects will be a maximum of one year, although, exceptionally, and if the nature of the project presented makes it necessary, a longer period may be considered. In this case, it will be necessary for the entity to give reasons for this extension. Likewise, the projects must be disseminated as widely as possible, in addition to collecting the lines of action of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and the Environment, in their theme.

DEADLINE OPEN UNTIL SEPTEMBER 15

The deadline for submitting applications is open until 2:00 p.m. (peninsular time) on September 15, 2017, under the terms and conditions specified in the Regulatory Bases. The resolution may be issued within a maximum period of six months from the closing date for receipt of applications.

The concession is established on a competitive basis and its Regulatory Bases can be consulted on the website of the Biodiversity Foundation.
