January 13, 2023– The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) launches the “Emprendeverde in Biosphere Reserves” program, a cycle of actions to support entrepreneurship in these territories. This training cycle, organised by the Biodiversity Foundation and with the collaboration of the Autonomous National Parks Agency (OAPN) and the Spanish Network of Biosphere Reserves (RERB), is developed within the framework of the Emprendeverde Network, a network of which nearly 11,000 green entrepreneurs are already part, which is coordinated by the Biodiversity Foundation and is co-financed by the European Social Fund. “Emprendeverde in Biosphere Reserves” consists of seven online training and advice actions aimed at entrepreneurs who want to promote green entrepreneurship in towns located in Biosphere Reserves. The first action took place today, through a webinar to publicise the Biosphere Reserves and the opportunities for green entrepreneurship in these territories, which was attended by a hundred interested people. Entrepreneurs with projects underway in Biosphere Reserves such as Tu Ternera en Casa, Bodegas Bal Minuta or Apícola Los Izanes were present, and the different actions to support the creation of new green enterprises in Biosphere Reserves and the services offered by this cycle were presented. During the webinar, Sonia Castañeda, deputy director for the Green Transition of the Biodiversity Foundation, explained that “we are at a key moment, mainly because of the results of COP15, because one of its conclusions has been the commitment that in 2023 companies of any size will have to know and report their impacts and dependencies on nature, which will be a niche opportunity for many of the companies in the Emprendeverde Network”. For her part, Sagrario Arrieta, deputy director of the OAPN, has stressed the opportunity that biosphere reserves represent for entrepreneurship “since they confer greater visibility to attract visitors, as well as a real possibility for the economic development of these territories contributing to the quality of life of their inhabitants and to fix the population, key aspects of our country. ACTIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MATURITY CYCLE OF THE PROJECTS
The cycle “Entrepreneurship in Biosphere Reserves” has a series of actions that are differentiated according to the level of maturity of the participating entrepreneurial projects or their proximity to the time of incorporation or creation of the company or registration of self-employed workers. Thus, the cycle consists of the following activities: For entrepreneurs in the initial phase, the Ideation Itinerary “Entrepreneurship in Biosphere Reserves” is offered, which is aimed at people who want to generate or define a business idea, to undertake in Biosphere Reserves. On the other hand, entrepreneurs can participate in the Emprendeverde training itineraries service, which consists of webinars, training modules, networking sessions and an online learning management system for the development of entrepreneurial skills and to consolidate key theoretical and practical knowledge in the launch of socially and economically sustainable enterprises.

Among the options offered in this service is the Ideation itinerary, designed for those who are in a very early phase of entrepreneurship and need support to generate or define their business idea. There are two modalities of participation: face-to-face live in the morning and without schedules through self-guided modules in a virtual classroom. For people who already have a defined business idea, but need to mature and validate it before launching into the market, they can choose the Creation itinerary, focused on testing and planning future ventures. Finally, for business ideas at a more advanced stage, there is the Alumni itinerary, aimed exclusively at those who have previously participated in other entrepreneurship or business creation programs and need an action plan or final impulse to launch their business on the market. For mature ventures, training and advisory services are offered. It is #TuEmpresaVerde is aimed at fairly mature ventures, close to the incorporation of a company or registration as a self-employed person. The training will take place between March and April 2023.
