The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment (MAGRAMA), through the Biodiversity Foundation, is holding information meetings between today and tomorrow aimed at the 84 beneficiaries of the 2013 edition of the Empleaverde Programme that have launched initiatives that contribute to increasing the qualification of workers in environmental issues. to encourage modernization and innovation in companies and to promote the creation of businesses linked to the environment.
The MAGRAMA, through the Biodiversity Foundation, has allocated 7.5 million euros to these 84 projects of the Empleaverde Programme, co-financed by the European Social Fund.
The beneficiaries of these grants have been summoned to these information days in order to provide them with all the information about the procedures for technical and economic justification of the projects. Thus, a training space is offered in which the queries of the beneficiary entities of the aid are attended to in a personalized way.
The initiatives developed within the framework of the 2013 edition of the empleaverde programme cover a wide range of sectors such as organic agriculture and livestock, energy, responsible consumption, the reconversion and environmental improvement of companies, ecotourism, entrepreneurship, the economy, innovation and green investment, the sustainable management of the coast and the marine environment, new technologies and sustainable mobility, among others.
Among the various topics, there are the use of microalgae as biofuel, the sustainable use of ash pastures; investment mechanisms to create green enterprises; the development of business initiatives in the Natura Network and Biosphere Reserves; the efficiency, qualification and energy certification of buildings; the calculation of CO2 emissions and their reduction in the business sector and the energy use of agroforestry biomass.
Five editions of the Empleaverde Programme
The empleaverde Programme is an initiative of the Biodiversity Foundation co-financed by the European Social Fund and aimed at improving employment and the environment and promoting green jobs and companies.
In its trajectory and without counting the projects of 2014, the Empleaverde Program has reached more than 800,000 people, of which 55,000 have received training. Since its first edition in 2008, a total of 220 projects have been launched, in which more than 400 entities have participated and which have supported the creation of 300 companies and 2,000 new lines of business in existing companies.
On 27 May, the agreements for the promotion of employment and green companies, signed within the framework of the fifth edition of the Empleaverde Programme 2007-2013, were presented. These are 36 projects with an investment of 1.8 million euros whose main objective is to take advantage of the capacity of sectors linked to the environment to create jobs.
