The Biodiversity Foundation, attached to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), has launched the “Emprendeverde Itineraries” initiative to provide free training until 2023 to more than 600 entrepreneurs with sustainable business ideas, which contribute to a green recovery and the conservation of biodiversity.
This action is part of the Emprendeverde Network (REV), coordinated by the Biodiversity Foundation, co-financed by the European Social Fund, to promote the creation of businesses with a positive environmental impact.
Emprendeverde Itineraries is a free and online training and experimentation service specialising in green entrepreneurship, from which more than 200 people will be able to benefit in 2021. Those who participate will have the opportunity to develop their business idea with the help of a training team, entities with extensive experience and with the support of the REV, which has positioned itself as the largest green entrepreneurship network in Spain, and which already has nearly 10,000 people.
All those who want to start a business, have a business idea or developed or to be defined, will be able to participate, since there will be three different training itineraries adapted to the needs and moment in which each project is: Ideation, Creation and Alumni.
Those selected will participate in online itineraries to obtain comprehensive training to help them start their company. Subjects will be taught on the identification of business needs and opportunities, development and testing of innovative and impactful prototypes, definition of effective commercial and communication plans, generation of a feasible and viable economic-financial plan or development of skills such as leadership, resilience or negotiation, among others.
The Biodiversity Foundation will evaluate the applications based on criteria such as previous experience in entrepreneurship and the green economy or the degree of innovation, viability and impact of the business idea. In the selection, priority will be given to people who belong to priority groups such as women, young people up to 35 years of age, over 45 years of age, immigrants, people with disabilities and residents of protected areas or rural areas.
PROMOTING THE CREATION OF NEW GREEN COMPANIES
The objective of this action by the Emprendeverde Network is to promote the start-up of new viable and more resilient companies, which contribute to a green recovery, the conservation of biodiversity and promote a fairer ecological transition. The people who participate in these trainings will have the support of the REV to disseminate their project.
Since 2016, more than 500 people have passed through the REV training with green entrepreneurship projects such as GreeMko (calculation of the environmental impact of companies), Ekomodo (accessories made with recycled plastic), Ciclogreen (an app that promotes sustainable mobility in the company) or Recircular (a platform for connecting companies for the recovery of waste).
