1st Technician (temporary) for the Research and Climate Change Area

To monitor and enhance the results of projects that contribute to the generation of scientific knowledge and the improvement of biodiversity and its adaptation to climate change, both on land and in the sea, beneficiaries of the calls and programmes financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) that are managed in the area. Ensure the best use of public funds associated with calls and/or contracts so that they have a positive impact on biodiversity and contribute to achieving relevant transformations in the territory and society.

  • Participate in the preparation of documents associated with calls for subsidies and tenders. Resolve doubts to the applicant and beneficiary entities.
  • Evaluate the proposals submitted to calls and tenders.
  • Train, accompany and assist the beneficiary entities during the presentation, execution, justification and liquidation of the projects. Channel all communications for the beneficiary entity and be the focal point of the project in the foundation.
  • Perform the technical and economic follow-up of the execution, justification, liquidation and payment of the projects. Prepare technical evaluation reports and results.
  • Perform and follow up on contracting and associated documents.
  • To support the control and auditing processes of the activities developed.
  • Support the organization and participate in meetings and events related to the activity of the area.
  • Elaborate and design action proposals for the fulfillment of the area’s objectives and for the best performance of the tasks of execution, evaluation, follow-up and control of the projects.
  • Monitor developments in terms of regulations, strategies, plans, programmes or projects related to the area: identification of good practices and activities, preparation of speeches and presentations, participation in publications, support in the preparation of strategic notes, etc.
  • Prepare documentation and information reports on projects (databases, indicators, reports, presentations, graphic material, notifications, etc.).
  • Any other function entrusted by the headquarters, coordination, deputy directorate and management.
  • Bachelor’s degree (also former Diplomatura and Licenciatura).
  • Experience of at least three years in the technical management of projects related to the environment.
  • Specific knowledge associated with the management and conservation of marine biodiversity.
  • Experience of at least two years in the management of calls and public funds linked to the environment.
  • Experience of at least one year in the management of European funds, preferably structural funds such as ERDF.
  • Specific postgraduate studies in the topics of the calls or equivalent work experience: conservation and management of biodiversity (both terrestrial and marine), ecological connectivity and restoration, desertification, sustainable energy transition and climate change.
  • Mastery of the Microsoft environment (Onedrive, Sharepoint, Planner, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) at the user level and other IT tools for project management.
  • English medium proficiency (B1 level or equivalent).
  • Fixed-term temporary contract for the execution of projects financed with European Union Funds (Fifth Additional Provision of Royal Decree-Law 32/2021), with the professional category of FIRST TECHNICIAN.
  • Location of the position: Fundación Biodiversidad headquarters in Madrid.
  • Gross Annual Salary: €33,373.05.
  • Maximum expected duration: until December 2029.
