Head (temporary) of the Bioeconomy Area

Promote calls for grants and projects that promote an economy that benefits biodiversity and, at the same time, take advantage of the potential of nature as an economic engine.
We work through the development of sustainable forest management and use, extensive livestock farming, ecological restoration and agroecological transition, with initiatives that achieve transformations of impact on the territory and contribute to the ecological transition and the recovery and maintenance of green infrastructure.

  • Assist in the design, planning and monitoring of actions in the Area and in the supervision and organisation of the work team.
  • Participate in the preparation of regulatory bases, calls for proposals, models, forms, specifications and procedures that are designed as tools to promote projects and aid for agroecological transition and sustainable territorial development.
  • Promote that the projects managed promote an economy that benefits biodiversity, achieve impact transformations, as well as work for the coordination and generation of synergies among the projects financed by the BF.
  • Coordinate and participate in the evaluation process and in the conduct of proposal evaluation committees.
  • To carry out and coordinate the technical and economic follow-up of the projects and the justification, settlement and payment procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports for the different phases of justification during project execution.
  • Contribute to program reporting and prepare reports and notes on progress, status, indicators and results of the activities carried out or specific topics of the area, as well as the alignment with different sectorial policies.
  • Support in the preparation of documentation and allegations for the General Intervention of the State Administration (IGAE), the Court of Auditors (TC) and third parties.
  • Support in the preparation of documentation and material necessary for communication, representation and participation in forums and events.
  • Organize and/or participate in internal and external meetings, working groups and events and deliver presentations on assigned topics and activities.
  • Contribute in the strategic definition processes and processes of improvement and better performance of the Area tasks.
  • Keep abreast of the most relevant technical, strategic and political issues and framework in relation to the subject matter of the projects managed.
  • Any other function entrusted by the Coordination, Sub-direction and/or Direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree (also former Diplomatura and Licenciatura).
  • Professional experience of at least five years in management and coordination of projects related to the environment.
  • At least three years of experience in team management.
  • Experience of at least two years in supervision and coordination of the technical and economic monitoring of calls.
  • Advanced English proficiency (Level B2 or higher).
  • Specific training or experience of at least three years in bioeconomy, nature conservation, environmental or sustainable development projects. Experience and knowledge in the management of bioeconomy, rural development and conservation of natural resources calls will be especially valued.
  • Knowledge or work in the public sector or in the Public Sector Contracts Law and the General Subsidies Law.
  • Temporary fixed-term contract for the execution of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. (Fifth additional provision of Royal Decree-Law 32/2021), with professional category JEFE/A.
  • Location of the position: Fundación Biodiversidad headquarters in Madrid.
  • Gross Annual Salary: €41,467.82
  • Expected duration: until December 2029.
