This project is aimed at managers and workers of SMEs and micro-SMEs in the aquaculture sector in Galicia.
The general objective of this initiative is to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the aquaculture sector with a strategy based on the definition and implementation of eco-efficient processes and technologies and on increasing the qualification of workers and technology suppliers.
Achieving this objective will mean guaranteeing adequate environmental management in companies in the sector, which will be articulated through studies, training and personalised advice and a broad sectoral implementation programme, which respond to the real environmental needs of the sector in terms of eco-efficiency needs and opportunities.
To this end, a set of tools will be created to meet the following specific objectives:
- Definition and implementation of eco-efficient technologies and processes for the fish aquaculture sector, especially in the field of consumption of the most relevant resources (energy, water, etc.).
- Design and definition of the eco-efficient aquaculture plant model.
- Development and implementation of the “Aquaculture Eco-efficiency Classroom” for the development of training and technification programmes.
- Definition and development of training-action itineraries and programmes, to increase the technological and professional qualification of managers, technicians and operators in the sector, and in the chain of technological and equipment suppliers.
- Evaluation in different farms to assess the possibility of implementing the selected solutions, to improve their energy consumption and achieve more efficient production.
